The Indiana Fever found their first win of the season on Thursday night in a preseason showdown against the Atlanta Dream.

Balanced scoring from the Fever helped the team overcome a poor shooting night from Caitlin Clark en route to an 83-80 victory. While Clark shot just 2-of-9 from long range she managed to compile 12 points to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Fever forward Nalyssa Smith finished with a game-high 21 points as the Fever finished off the preseason with a strong win. Following the contest the Fever took to social media with a warning.

"we're just getting started," the team said.

Earlier this offseason Clark made it clear she has a "playoffs or bust" mentality heading into her rookie season.

"I think no matter what happens there's going to be expectations and pressure on my shoulders and pressure on this team to be really good. That's how you want it," Clark said, via the Associated Press. "We wouldn't want anything else. We want people showing up to our games, people expecting us to win a lot of basketball games this year and I'm expecting myself to play really well. I don't think it's anything that's ever been different for me."

Can the Fever make a run to the playoffs in 2024?
