Caitlin Clark mania took full effect in Indianapolis before the Indiana Fever officially made her the No. 1 pick.

Back in March, local street artist Kwazar Martin unveiled a mural of Clark and Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton on 17th Street. The 20-foot by 15-foot mural is located on 17th Street.

Martin was eager to honor Clark, who set the NCAA all-time scoring record before the Fever drafted her last month.

"She's changing the game," Martin told the Indianapolis Star's Mykal McEldowney. "Just to see the excitement of her coming into the league, not just here, is pretty dope. She's done a lot for this city already, and she's not even here yet."

Amid a record-setting senior season at Iowa, Clark officially declared for the WNBA Draft at the end of February. Since the Fever had already won the lottery, Martin said he immediately got to work before Clark led the Hawkeyes to another National Championship Game and put on a Fever jersey.

"As soon as I saw her make herself eligible for the draft, two days later I started on the wall," Martin told WRTV's Taj Simmons. "We're deeply rooted with basketball. Football as well, but with basketball, it goes way back."

Indiana passing on Clark wasn't much of a risk, so the city had a chance to celebrate its newest star athlete before her debut.

Clark's presence has led to major spikes in merchandise and ticket sales. Teams are moving home games against Indiana to larger venues to accommodate larger demand, and the overwhelming majority of her games will get nationally televised.

Clark will make her WNBA debut against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
