Freshly retired from the WNBA after 16 seasons, Candace Parker is taking a major business step off the court.

Parker has been named the new president of Adidas women's basketball, she revealed in an exclusive interview with Fast Company on Wednesday.

The legendary forward, who has worn Adidas dating back to her college days at the University of Tennessee, said she'll be "overseeing pretty much everything" in her new role.

"The brand and I have grown together, and we've done some amazing things," Parker told Fast Company. "I'm excited about what the future holds on this side of things, because I'm so passionate about growing the game of basketball."

Parker, 38, shocked the basketball world when she announced her abrupt retirement in late April.

"I promised I'd never cheat the game & that I'd leave it in a better place than I came into it," Parker wrote on Instagram. "The competitor in me always wants one more, but it's time. My HEART & body knew, but I needed to give my mind time to accept it."

During her decorated professional career, she won three WNBA championships, two league MVP awards and one WNBA Finals MVP while making first-team all-league seven times and appearing in seven WNBA All-Star Games.

Really, that only begins to cover Parker's incredible resume in the W, and doesn't even touch what she accomplished while playing in Russia, with USA Basketball or at Tennessee.

In addition to her work at Adidas, Parker will continue in her role as analyst for TNT.
