Collingwood finally in contract talks with improving young gun

Jake Niall reports that Collingwood have opened contract talks with midfielder Ed Allan who is out of contract at the end of the 2026 AFL season. Allan, the son of former Hawthorn and Fremantle star Ben Allan, has starred for the Magpies playing 14 games so far this season and moving into a midfield tagging role where he follows the opposition’s best midfielder. Collingwood faces some major list management calls at the end of the season with veterans Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom still to announce whether they will play on in 2027.
