Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is not happy with an Indianapolis-based reporter's interaction with Caitlin Clark on Wednesday afternoon.

Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft, had her introductory press conference with the Indiana Fever on Wednesday. Gregg Doyel, the top sports columnist at the Indy Star, had a bizarre interaction with Clark that many are calling "creepy."

Here's what happened:

Doyel: "Gregg Doyel, Indy Star. Real quick, let me do this. [Heart hands gesture.]"

Clark: "You like that?"

Doyel: "I like that you're here, I like that you're here."

Clark: "Yeah, I do that to my family after every game. Pretty cool."

Doyel: "Well, start doing it to me, and we'll get along just fine."

The moment went viral on social media, with many criticizing Doyel for the interaction, particularly his last line.

Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, has been a staunch defender of Clark dating back to the 2023 Final Four. He attended her Elite Eight win against LSU this year.

Wednesday afternoon, he accused Doyel of being a "pervert."

"@IndyStarSports do something about this pervert," he wrote on social media.

He added: "To clarify I meant to call Gregg Doyle a sexist pervert. Which he is based on his nauseating actions today."

Doyel has yet to respond to the blowback on social media.
