The past three days couldn't have gone much better if you happen to be a Bears fan.

Coming into the 2024 draft Chicago had a lot holes to fill and only five picks to do so — and for the most part they hit it out of the park.

Here's a look at the Bears' selections in this year's class:

  • Round 1 - Caleb Williams, QB, USC (No. 1 overall)
  • Round 1 - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington (No. 9 overall)
  • Round 3 - Kiran Amegadjie, T, Yale (No. 75 overall)
  • Round 4 - Tory Taylor, P, Iowa (No. 122 overall)
  • Round 5 - Austin Booker, EDGE, Kansas (No. 144 overall)

Chicago was able to land what many view is a generational prospect at quarterback — something they haven't really had... ever. And followed that up with players that can help their team in all three phases.

Rome Odunze graded out as a Day 1 starter who has the potential to develop into a bonafide WR1 with similar traits to Larry Fitzgerald. Not only that but they also grabbed a physically imposing, road-grader at tackle who could eventually be the anchor of their offensive line.

Pair that with the best punter in college football and a uniquely-gifted player that can pressure the opposing team's quarterback and you've got yourself a nice draft haul.

Grade: A-

The Bears took a couple of chances on players whose physical traits maybe outweigh their skillset. But landing talents like Williams and Odunze in the first 10 picks (with the relationship they already seem to have), along with a highly-decorated punter that changed games at the previous level makes this a draft class that everyone in the Windy City can get excited about.
