New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas may have revealed which position the front office will target with its first-round pick in next week's draft.

Speaking to the media Friday morning, Douglas said he likes the current tight end room for the Jets. However, he's not opposed to adding another weapon to that position group.

"The right type of tight end can be a real weapon," Douglas said, via Connor Hughes of SNY

There's one particular tight end in this draft class that fits that description. His name is Brock Bowers.

Bowers had a phenomenal run at Georgia from 2021-2023. As a true freshman, he hauled in 56 passes for 882 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Overall, Bowers had 2,538 receiving yards, 193 rushing yards and 31 total touchdowns during his college career. He presented a mismatch for Georgia every time he lined up on the field.

Bowers is considered a generational prospect at his position, and as a result, he won't make it to Day 2 of the draft. Heck, he probably won't make it past the first 15 picks.

According to NFL Peter Schrager, the Jets met with Bowers during this draft process.

If the Jets want to add Bowers to their roster, they'll have to use the 10th overall pick.
