Stephen A. Smith is one of the most polarizing figures in all of sports and sports media, but his ability to get people invested in his opinions and content is almost unmatched.

Smith seems to go viral every week for a new comment, whether it's on television or even his own podcast.

He's never been afraid to give his opinion, sometimes to his own detriment.

The level of authenticity and candor he shows has some calling for him to run for public office.

Smith says that he's flattered by the offers, but that there's only one job in politics that he would consider taking.

"The only office that would do it for me is the presidency of the United States," Smith told the Washington Post.

"And I don't think there's a snowball's chance in Hell the American people would vote for me," he admitted.

There aren't any prerequisites for the job, but Smith has never held public office before. Going straight to the presidency would be a jump that's likely too big, even for someone with his charisma and personality.

With politics away from the center of his attention, Smith is focusing on continuing to build his brand.

He's a star at ESPN, but he's beginning to discuss more pop culture and world affairs in his time away from the network.

Smith has become one of the most recognizable figures in the sports world, and it's clear that he wants that to extend to other walks of life.

For now, politics doesn't appear to be one of those areas of expansion, but we'll see if Smith changes his mind if more calls come in for him to run for office.
