Legendary NFL quarterback and former New England Patriots superstar signal-caller Tom Brady was at the center of the comedic crosshairs on Sunday during Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. As everyone knows, nothing is off the table when it comes to events like this. The more awkward, the better is the mantra of some of the roastmasters, including, of course, comedian Jeff Roast AKA the Roastmaster General.

Ross certainly lived up that nickname when he took a shot at Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who was lucky to score a major steal in the 2000 NFL Draft.

"So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft's office and said, 'I'm the best decision your organization has ever made,” Ross said.

Then came the punch line: Would you like a massage?'"

Right after that joke, Tom Brady got up from his seat and went over to Ross. Brady was heard whispering a NSFW message to the comedian, saying "Don't say that s**t again." Ross agreed while also acknowledging Kraft’s appreciation of the joke and praising him for his work for the Jews.

“He's having fun, look at him. I love what you do for the Jews, Robert Kraft. You're incredible."

If you’re wondering what Ross was referencing, it’s the scandalous incident back in 2019 when Kraft was alleged to have solicited prostitution at a massage parlor. Kraft was later cleared of the charge after it was later found that a video that was supposed to be used as evidence against him was illegally obtained.

The moment between Brady and Ross garnered all sorts of reactions from people online, especially over at X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).

“Tom Brady doesn’t get to decide how jokes go in a roast. That’s one audible he can’t call,” said @DannyPhantom24.

“Respect to Brady for manning up for his dude,” chimed in @JetsAGNB.

From @BootheBets: “How is he going to get mad about a joke at a roast??”

Via @AndyHHSports: “Tom is so soft you know what you signed up for”

A lot of people also couldn’t bear the awkwardness of the moment. Then again, it’s one of the feelings such roasts want to provoke.

“Damn that was awkward. Jeff Ross is funny as hell but that was real awkward,” observed @Cory_Hays407.

“Awkward very awkward,” added @13isLucky13.

“I gotta be honest watching this I never got close to the opinion that he was going to hit him lmao, which is what a Will Smith moment would be,” shared @PatsBuzz.

“Tom Brady glazing Robert Kraft isn't something I had on my 2024 bingo card,” said @770locks.

“Wow—What a pitiful SOFT moment from @TomBrady —I guess the "System GOAT" has to protect his Cheating, Criminal team and its owner!!! WOW!!!! If you can't take the "Roast" stay out of the Kitchen folks!!!!” said a fired-up @MiamiCanes1971, who certainly can’t let go of his hate for the seven-time Super Bowl winner.

“He deflated Jeff Ross like he deflated that ball,” commented @mjarbo.

Another different take from @theinternetgm: “He's defending someone that didn't sign up to get roasted. If the joke was about him, he would have been fine”
