UNC Tar Heels star guard Deja Kelly, one of the biggest names in the NCAA's Transfer Portal, has announced her commitment on Monday afternoon.

Kelly, who has one season of eligibility remaining, has committed to play for Oregon in 2024-25.

"New Throne. 👑🦆," she wrote.

Kelly, a 5-foot-8 guard, averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game in 2023-24. She was one of the top available guards in the portal.

"Kelly is an elite level mid-range scorer whose ability to create her own shot and get to the free throw line will help any offense," one ACC coach said, per Talia Goodman of On3 Sports

"Her defense leaves much to be desired – whoever her next team has around her to help her on defense will really determine how much success she can have."

Kelly is the latest big name in the women's college basketball world to transfer this spring. Former LSU Tigers star guard Hailey Van Lith also decided to leave, transferring into TCU's program.

While Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are off to the WNBA, the 2024-25 women's college basketball season should be an exciting one.
