Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler will pitch in Oklahoma City for his fourth rehab start on Thursday. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Buehler will pitch around 80-85 pitches in his start on Thursday.

The 29-year-old has been working his way back onto the mound after suffering Tommy John surgery in 2022. Buehler missed half of the 2022 season and the entire 2023 season.

The two-time All-Star has been solid in his rehab outings, but in his most recent one on Friday in Rancho Cucamonga, Buehler got hit on his right hand with a line drive. He exited the game early, but fortunately, he was OK.

If the former All-MLB First-Teamer pitches well in his next outing, he will be a strong candidate to return from the injured list next week and join the big leagues. In his last full season in 2021, Buehler recorded a career-high 16 wins, a 2.47 ERA, 212 strikeouts, and a 0.97 WHIP in 33 starts and 207.2 innings.

Dodger fans won’t have to wait too much longer for Buehler’s return. He will certainly help elevate the Dodgers’ rotation, which has already suffered another injury this season in the form of Bobby Miller.
