Your Wednesday roundup.
Yesterday saw three new Hall of Famers earn their plaques in Cooperstown, and while all three were more than deserving I'd like to take a moment to wax poetic to one of my favorite Yankees, CC Sabathia. For a decade CC was the consummate pro in New York, more than earning his title as the team's ace right away in their championship 2009 season and then contributing mightily to the clubhouse even as his skills diminished in his later seasons. The big lefty left me with so many fond memories, and I'm glad to see his incredible career recognized with a first-year enshrinement — he's more than earned it.
Today's a Hall-heavy day, as we lead off with Josh talking about another former Yankee in Ichiro Suzuki and his short-lived but memorable resurgence in pinstripes. Then Matt turns back to the former ace and talks about his favorite moments from CC Sabathia's Yankees tenure, before Sam wraps our day up with a look at José Tábata's stint in the Yankees organization for our Could Have Been series.
Questions/Prompts:
1. What's your favorite CC memory in light of his enshrinement to the Hall?
2. Is Kirby Yates going to the Dodgers the last addition they'll make, or will the gravy train keep rolling?
