Ilja Dragunov shares his reaction to getting drafted to WWE Raw.

Following the conclusion of the 2024 WWE Draft, several WWE Superstars now find themselves in new territory, either through a brand switch or an official call-up to WWE’s main roster. One of the names falling into the latter category is former WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, who received a promotion from the NXT brand to WWE Raw. Upon the news of his call-up to WWE’s main roster, Dragunov spoke with WWE Raw correspondent Jackie Redmond, sharing his excitement for the move.

“I have no words,” Dragunov said in a digital exclusive. “NXT became my home. A lot of these people became a home away from home for me. But now it’s time for my next chapter, and I got to make a promise. One promise that I already kept here; to every place I come, I push the place to the next level. That’s what I do. That’s what I did with NXT. And this is the same thing I do when I come to Raw with incomparable passion, and incomparable intensity. Trust me, no one is prepared and no one is safe anymore when The Mad Dragon arrives.”

Looking ahead, many fans have pointed out that Dragunov and his former WWE NXT UK rival Gunther will once again be on the same brand. As such, Dragunov was asked to share his thoughts on this development.

“I think for there’s only one word that describes it — destiny,” Dragunov said.
