More on Drew Gulak Exiting WWE; NXT Talent Claim He Was a BullyJeff WhalenMay 4, 2024 - 11:59 pm

-- Earlier this week, it was reported that Drew Gulak was among multiple WWE NXT talent that was released from the company, however, at yesterday's post-Backlash presser with media, Paul "HHH" Levesque clarified that Gulak wasn't technically released, rather a decision was made not to renew his expiring contract.

-- Fightfulselect.com, one of the two outlets that originally reported that Gulak was released, has now confirmed with multiple sources that Gulak is still with the company but was told recently that his contract would not be extended nor would he be offered a new deal once his existing one expires next month. The report also adds that after Ronda Rousey publicly called out Gulak for sexual misconduct, WWE initiated an investigation and Gulak's public response to Rousey's claims made the situation worse for him. However, that was not the deciding factor in not retaining his services.

-- Instead, several talent in NXT had labeled Gulak a "bully" who would often target talent in a way that would attack any existing injuries that they were recovering from. One talent noted that during a match against Gulak, the latter purposely re-dislocated a finger that was healing. He also had a reputation for intimidating talent into not reporting any incidents against him, however, there was one incident in which he was verbally reprimanded by Shawn Michaels and NXT coaches for intentionally spiking an opponent during a match. Another talent stated that Gulak was "odd" and often would "test" wrestlers to see if he could get a reaction out of his bullying.
