'Send the contract' – Jake Paul starts talks to fight little-known Indian boxer who weighs 50lbs lighter than him and was once set to face Amir Khan

Jake Paul has now started talks to fight Neeraj Goyat next.

The bizarre potential bout has emerged as a result of a call-out message from the little-known Indian boxer on Instagram.

Goyat has a solid following in his home country, but is otherwise only known in the boxing world for being scheduled to face Amir Khan in 2019.

Their fight did not take place in the end as Goyat was injured in a car accident.

His career resumed in 2021 and he now has a pro boxing record of 18-4-2 (8 KOs).

In his most notable fight thus far, which took place this year, the 32 year old lost every round to Jose Zepeda, who used him as a comeback opponent after himself losing a world title challenge.

A point worth noting is that Zepeda challenged for the WBC super-lightweight (140lbs) world title and boxed Goyat at welterweight (147lbs).

In fact, most of Goyat’s contests in recent years have seen him weigh between 144lbs and 147lbs.

However, this did not stop him from calling out Paul, who weighed in at 199.4lbs for his cruiserweight contest against Andre August which he won by KO1 earlier this month.

Regardless of the 50lbs difference, Goyat posted: “I challenge Jake Paul for a fight. I request everyone to mention @JakePaul and @MostValuablePromotions (Jake’s Promotional Company) in your comments and let’s make it happen.”

The exchange on social media

Paul replied: “Any time, any place.”

To which Goyat said: “Your time, your place.”

But Paul hit back: “Brother you too small. Walking around at 150lbs? Maybe I tie one arm behind my back?”

This irritated Goyat who responded: “The bigger they are, the harder they fall. I’m ready to fight you at any weight. My walking weight right now is 158lbs and I don’t care about yours. your both hands and your brothers both hands will be less to even touch me.”

The Most Valuable Promotions then posted a comment confirming talks have officially started for the fight.

Goyat has since posted an additional video message in which he’s urged Paul to ‘send the contract’ and branded him ‘Fake Paul’.

Paul has already announced that his next fight will take place on March 2 in Puerto Rico, but no opponent is confirmed yet.
